Live the Dream!
dreamFIT started as a dance program for special needs adults in Jasper, Alabama, and has grown into so much more.
From our in-school programs incoordination with The Literacy Council of Central Alabama and the Walker County Arts Alliance to providing job-type training to our Instructor Team, dreamFIT is always looking to serve.

“We started dancing, and then when the summer ended, we wanted to keep it going. dreamFIT just rolled and started growing. Its been growing now for almost 12 years.
“We are so thankful for our partnership with the Walker County Arts Alliance and Walker County Schools. Dance is an art. It’s art in motion, and it has gone over so well in the 8 schools (and growing) that we work with.”

Our Impact
dreamFIT holds a weekly “Bigs” program for adults at Swann Gym. Day programs from the Arc of Walker County, NWAMHC Windows Without Walls, Community Options, Winfield’s Windows Unlimited, and others attend each week. This provides a regular, highly-anticipated socialization & exercise opportunity.
Our school program travels to Carbon Hill Elementary/Jr. High, Curry Elementary/Middle, Dora High, Oakman Elementary/Middle, Sumiton Elementary, Sumiton Middle, and Valley Intermediate Schools and pre-k classes at the Walker County Center of Technology.
Our Mission
Providing adults and children of Walker County with inclusive recreational and social opportunities to improve the quality of life of individuals with special needs by: promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting social relationships, developing job opportunities, and fostering community education, empathy, and involvement.
Sadie is Fulfilling a Dream
Sadie Wyers is using her love of dancing to be a ray of sunshine in Walker County. Sadie has been a part of dreamFIT since she was a teenager, and she now serves as one of our instructors.
dreamFIT has allowed Sadie to fulfill her dream of being a dance teacher. “I mostly make up the music playlist, and we go to different schools, like Oakman, Dora, Sumiton and Curry (to name a few).”

The Walker County Arts Alliance is vital to the Walker County Schools providing arts education throughout the system. dreamFIT is proud to partner as one of these programs.
